I just THOUGHT last night was hard.........now I know what 20/20/20 means!

When I woke up this morning, my body was TIRED. For a minute I thought "WHAT is wrong with me today?". Then I remembered, oh yeah, kickboxing last night! So I slept a few extra minutes and allowed my body to rest a bit.

Not being a quitter (at least not anymore, I used to be!), I went back to my favorite instructor Renee's class at 5:30 this evening. On Thursday instead of kickboxing, the class is called "20/20/20". I had no idea what this would be like, but thought what the heck, I'll try anything once.

OMG. I am home and listing on Ebay tonight, and thank goodness all I have to do is type. Turns out 20/20/20 means 20 minutes of three different activities. Tonight it was 20 minutes of aerobics with the big exercise ball, 20 minutes of hand weights for upper body/back and 20 minutes with the stretchy band. The muscles that didn't scream this morning will be screaming tomorrow!

I have a feeling if I drag myself to her classes 3 nights a week religiously, and then walk/run 2-3 days, I will drop this weight quicker. That's my new goal - the 5:30 class on Tues/Wed/Thurs. If you're in the local area, you seriously need to try it out! And besides, I could always use an exercise partner. :-)

  1. Oh my goodness Bama Girl- you're going full speed ahead! Good for you- just be careful not to overdo it. I had fallen out of the exercise habit as of late, but my shopping ban has freed up time for it again, so I hit the gym Monday. You're inspiring me to try a class. Keep up the good work. P.S. My parents have a place in Orange Beach and we LOVE it down there. It has become a tradition for this Midwestern family (oh what I would do for some royal reds about now).

  4. love your new blog look ! So awesome for you ... accelerating your goal ! You inspire me to exercise more! Love your motivation! My excuse is I'm dead tired keeping up with 3 kiddos ! Should constitute for exercise... right? (nah) ! Thanks for the Vista print tip! May have to try a sporting good store for pink gloves. ; )

  5. Woobie, how wild your parents have a place in our slice of paradise! We're in Gulf Shores, very close. I have a few royal red recommendations for your next trip.....Gulf Shores Steamer and Boudreaux's Seafood. Boudreaux's you can order by the lb. and they steam free, so you can eat and get messy in the comfort of your own home! :-)

    Nipsy, thank you! It's getting easier all the time and I feel guilty when I miss a few days, I suppose that's a good sign!

    Angel, THANK YOU for all the advice. You've been a tremendous help. I wish I could figure out how to insert a weblink into my posts......grrr....just tryin' to figure it all out!
